Whether you're someone who's into building your own haunts or just love love scary costumes, this is an event to keep an eye on!
The first ever Idaho Halloween and Horror Con has been given the conditional greenlight to move forward with their event at the Red Lion Inn Boise Downtowner on August 13-15, 2021! While the complete programming schedule is still being put together, the convention website gives spooky fans a little preview of what to expect.
As someone that's still rather new to the cosplay world, I'm really excited for some of the things they're working on in this area. Right now, they're planning to host panels, discussion and more about costume design, make-up, special effects and prop making. If you've always been jealous of people that can make super scary looking scars and wound with basic make-up, toilet paper and liquid latex, this sounds like great place to get your questions answered.
For Horror fans, they're working on a Horror Film Festival and a series of special guests who've worked on well down horror projects. They've already announced Robert "Bonecrusher" Mukes, who had roles in House of 1000 Corpses, Weeds and West World.
For Haunters, they're working on an opportunity to do some make & takes, mini builds and more. They've already announced Jonathon Mario as one of their "Haunter" guests. He's been working in the haunt industry since he was 14, owns CrowCawfx make-up studio and has been featured on The Travel Channel and SyFy.

Other events they're working together will include the Horror Ball dance party complete with a DJ and freak show side performances from The Great Idaho Nightmare, and Undead Buffet, Haunted Tour and Fright-E-Okee.
The convention is strictly following COVID-19 guidelines and laid out the rules they plan to follow, but acknowledges they could change by the time the convention arrives. That's why tickets are quite limited for now with only 200 tickets available. If you'd like to buy yours now so that you don't miss out, they're on sale now HERE. General admission passes are $25. Tickets for the Horror Ball and Undead Buffet are available as add-ons.
I've been wanting to cosplay Sabrina from Netflix's The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and I'm pretty excited to have a reason to do that long before Halloween!
