Boise State Hoops gets Australian Transplant
Tom Wilson a native of Melbourne, Australia received a lot of attention from college basketball coaches while at the Australian Institute of sports. Among those coaches was Leon Rice of Boise State but Wilson opted for SMU where as a 6-4 freshman guard, he became a starter.
In December however, Wilson told SMU officials he wanted a release from his commitment. Wilson, who in addition to Boise State was recruited by Connecticut, Gonzaga and more, decided Boise State was the right fit. Wilson is expected to enroll in Boise State this week and would be eligible to play after December 15, 2017.
Wilson says BSU's success in developing Aussie players was a big factor in his decision, currently Nick Duncan, an Aussie native is the Bronco team leader.
