When it comes to produce in Idaho--there are few things that get more national recognition than potatoes. Idaho, known as the 'potato state' has a giant potato on a trailer that travels the country, a massive seal on every sack of potatoes that is shipped out to the rest of the country, and just weeks ago, when asked about Idaho, all Donald Trump had to say was "potatoes--I love potatoes".

Here in Idaho, we understand that there's more to local produce and agriculture--despite our universal love for taters.

Established in 1911, Wissel Farms is one of Idaho's most cherished locally operated farms, anywhere in the state. Known for sweet corn, watermelon, a wildly popular 'veggie subscription' program, and just about everything in between, there are few destinations more authentic and 'Made in Idaho' that Wissel Farms' produce stand.

Love to 'Buy Idaho' and eat local produce?

How about taking your love for local produce a little further this summer? Wissel Farms may have just the event for you.

In fact-- it was so popular the first time just weeks ago that it's BACK -- now, every single Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. until Noon!

Wissel Farms writes:

Come meet Farmer Matt, a third-generation Nampa farmer, and learn firsthand what it takes to grow your food. Enjoy the experience of picking your own produce while exploring a variety of crops on our farm

Grab the kids, the blind date--whomever--and make your way to Wissel Farms' 'U-Pick' Day(s)!

Veggies available for picking include:

  • green beans
  • eggplants
  • okra
  • sweet corn
  • dill
  • basil
  • tomatillos
  • tomatoes
  • greens

It's just $10 per 5 gallon bucket of corn!

We spoke with Farmer Morgan of Wissel Farms, who exclaimed:

You gotta eat your veggies if you're gonna be strong and healthy like Farmer Matt!

Sounds pretty sweet!
