The term "Vandal Strong" has grown in strength over the last few days as the State of Idaho and the nation have watched, prayed, and mourned together surrounding the loss of four University of Idaho students.

The incident is nothing shy of a tragedy in an area that otherwise has been safe, beloved, and community oriented.

On Wednesday, November 16th, a press conference was held in which local police and the University of Idaho addressed the public surrounding the tragedy. Below are details that were shared on this ongoing investigation.

Prior to being found dead in their residence by Moscow Police officers, two of the victims were at a house party near campus and the other two, were known to be at a bar location, downtown. The Chief of Police shared that the four arrived home late Saturday night into early Sunday morning where they were stabbed with a knife.

Ongoing autopsies will be able to indicate if the same knife was used in all four stabbings--and at this time, no weapon (knife) as been found by authorities.

Police are not ready to share details of the call they received, reporting students "unconscious"--as that is a part of the investigation. Police also add that there was no sign of forced entry in the home and the door was left open when authorities arrived to the scene.

At this time, Moscow Police hope to identify a person of interest however, they have no suspect currently. They are asking for as many tips or leads as possible.

Finally, the Chief of Police remarked that they cannot guarantee that there is no threat to the public in Moscow--warning that everyone should be vigilant, aware of their surroundings, and safe at this time.

The University of Idaho also shared that students or anyone on campus can call a 24-hour hotline to be given a safe ride home at any time of the day.

Any information should be shared with the tip line at:  208-883-7180
