2025 Ultimate Ranking of Idaho’s 18 Ski Resorts From Worst To First
It's no secret that Idaho has some amazing ski resorts. In fact, some of the best ski resorts in the world are located within the border of the Gem State, so finding a way to definitively rank all 18 isn't easy. Still, we did it again, and this year, we have a new resort at the top of our list.
Last year's list had Sun Valley on the top of the proverbial mountain of Idaho ski resorts, but our list can change each year because of factors that other lists don't always consider. Our list is ranked based on not just reputation, not how much money is spent on advertising or how many celebrities are spotted there, but a combination of several factors. Sure, reputation can't be ignored. A history of years of excellence isn't thrown out, but recent history has a major advantage on our list because it's an annual list. We try to answer the question: what resort will give skiers the best experience in 2025?
This year, the answer is Bogus Basin. It moved up five spots from last year's list to claim the number one position in 2025. Our list is based on reputation, reviews, and ease of access. Bogus's location gives it a significant leg up on the competition when it comes to accessibility. But when the readers of Newsweek named it the Best Ski Resort in America, Boise's closest ski resort shot up the ranks faster than the Swift Current 6 (<-skier joke).
That wasn't the only major change to the list. Brundage Mountain fell from number four to number seven. Lookout Pass fell from number eight to number 14. At the same time, Magic Mountain entered the top 10 after being number 13 last year, and 2024's number 14 resort, Lost Trail Ski Area, climbed into the number 11 spot.
