There’s a recent article from Stacker that shares the best, worst, and average commute times for Treasure Valley drivers, and they compare our numbers to other busy metros in the country.

They said, “American commutes are getting longer, with a U.S. Census Bureau report released in 2021 revealing the average one-way commute in 2019 reached a record high of 27.6 minutes. Combined with record-high gas prices, workers’ daily commutes are increasingly time-consuming and expensive—so much so that some are calling for commutes to count as part of the workday.”

YES. The numbers they shared are from a couple of years ago, so it’s definitely worse now — it's gotta be! I mean, we KNOW gas is worse. Why is this not a thing?

I gotta say, I kinda like the iidea of making work commutes part of the workday. If we’re spending more time driving to/from work and that amount of time is only increasing every year, then why not?!
