It was announced last week that Regal Cinemas may be filing for bankruptcy. With this announcement is also the word that 39 of their movie theaters throughout the country will be closing in February.

It was said in a recent article about this, “The owner of Regal Cinemas confirmed Monday that it was considering filing for bankruptcy but promised “business as usual” at it tries to shore up its finances."

Are we going to be losing any of our Regal Cinemas in the Boise area?

Thankfully, none of the Boise area movie theaters are on their list of closing theaters. And actually, there aren’t any from Idaho on the list at all! So, at least for now, we’re getting to keep the Regal Cinemas we have here. Keep scrolling for the list of the theaters that will be closing 👇

The reason I say, “for now,” is because the owner and higher-ups of Regal Cinemas (while trying their best to gain control of their finances) have been illuding to filing bankruptcy — let’s just say they don’t seem very hopeful. However, it’s been reported that the decision to close these 39 theaters will save them an additional $22 million dollars each year.
