‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Contestants Must Now Get Approval Before Having Sex
Bachelor in Paradise is shooting right now. And, at least so far, there have been no additional shutdowns or interruptions following the controversy and production stoppage after allegations of misconduct on the set of the show. The show’s executives ultimately determined no misconduct took place between Corrine Olympios and DeMario Jackson, but they are still being extra cautious in the wake of the near-scandal. According to TMZ, new rules have been put in place for sexual relations between members of the cast, up to an including amorous encounters in the so-called “Boom Boom Room.”
The Characters From ‘Cars 2’ Aren’t Featured in ‘Cars 3’
Last month, I had the opportunity to travel to Emeryville, California to screen footage from Pixar’s Cars 3, at the company’s headquarters and studio. At these sorts of advanced screenings it’s made clear from the start that you’re not seeing the entire movie, only select portions, and the amount they show you can vary. I attended a similar preview for The Good Dinosaur a few years ago in New York City and only saw three brief scenes from the movie.
Today Is the 20th Anniversary of ‘Space Jam’ Being a Terrible Movie
If you asked me to pick the worst scene in Space Jam, I would say “All of them,” because technically that is the correct answer.
‘Mascots’ Trailer: The Masters of the Mockumentary Are Back
Our 2016 fall movie preview focused entirely on theatrical movies, with one crucial exception. We couldn’t leave out Mascots, the new movie from Christopher Guest. It may be debuting on Netflix instead of in movie theaters around the country, but it’s easily one of our most anticipated movies of the fall. To watch this trailer, is to understand why.
‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Review: The Saga Continues…
The original Star Wars was driven by nostalgia for pulp magazines, Saturday-morning serials, and a simpler era with clear-cut heroes and villains. The new Star Wars is driven by nostalgia for the original Star Wars, and a simpler era when that title evoked words like “adventure” and “excitement,” and not words like “the taxation of trade routes,” and “Jar Jar Binks.” The characters in Star Wars: The Force Awakens are all searching for something of great importance to the galaxy far, far away. I won’t reveal what this MacGuffin is, but I will tell you what it represents: that old Star Wars magic. Can director J.J. Abrams and the rest of the saga’s new creators find it?
‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Trailer: The End Is Nigh for Marvel’s Mutants
I’m an old enough nerd to remember when the first X-Men movie came out in theaters. At that time, comic books were not the number one driver of all things in popular culture. Bryan Singer’s X-Men certainly featured all the comic’s beloved heroes and villains, but there did seem like there was a concerted effort to tamp down some of their comic-book-ness. Everyone dressed in black. There was no spandex. The story was grounded in weighty real-world themes like prejudice and vengeance. It was the X-Men you knew, but watered down just a bit. It was a rum and coke, not a shot of gin. X-Men: Apocalypse, in comparison, looks like a bottle of Beefeater.
